PA-0400620 OF FRANK AND HELEN ALEGRE, ETAL <br /> (APN: 005-020-14; 005-020-15; 005-020-16) <br /> The applicant has submitted the above referenced General Plan Map Amendment <br /> application to amend the General Plan designation of three parcels totaling 34.61 acres <br /> from General Agriculture (A/G) to Truck Terminal (I/T). The project is located 2,800 feet <br /> east of Thornton Road, on the south side of west State Route Highway 12. <br /> The land is primarily flat with fallow agricultural land. The parcels to the south have a <br /> General Plan designation of General Agriculture (A/G). Parcels located east have a <br /> General Plan designation of (I/T) Truck Terminal. The parcels located to the west are <br /> located within Flag City and have a General Plan designation of Freeway Services <br /> Commercial. (C/FS). <br /> General Plan Issues <br /> The applicant intends to expand the current Truck Terminal location located east of the <br /> proposed site. Development Title Section 9-803.4 states that, prior to approving an <br /> application for a General Plan Amendment the Planning Commission and Board of <br /> Supervisors shall determine that the internal consistency of the General Plan is <br /> maintained in the adoption of the Amendment. <br /> General Plan Policies <br /> Volume I Policy 2. (c) Truck Terminals (pg IV-33 & 34): <br /> (1) Function: provide a location in areas outside of urban communities in close <br /> proximity to freeways to transfer goods from large freight trucks to smaller trucks <br /> for local distribution or to consolidate small loads to large freight trucks for <br /> delivery to distant locations, and for the hauling and storage of uncontainerized <br /> materials. <br /> I <br />
