Terracon's ability to interpret the land uses is limited by the scale and quality of the photos. Selected photographs are included in Appendix C. 2.3 United States Geological Survey Topographic Maps Readily available historical USGS topographic maps (at approximately 10 to 15 year intervals) were reviewed to evaluate land development and obtain information concerning the history of development on and near the site. Reviewed historical topographic maps are summarized below. ■ Topographic mag: Bellota, California, published 1939 ■ Topographic map. Bellota, California, published 1942 ■ Topographic map: Lockeford, California, published 1953 o Topographic map: Lockeford, California, published 1968 ■ Topographic map: Lockeford, California, published 1979 The site is depicted approximately 50 and 65 feet above mean sea level. The Mokelumne River surrounds the site to the north, east and west. Agricultural land with rural residences border the site to the south. Industrial waste ponds are depicted further northwest of the site. In the 1939 and 1942 maps, the site is depicted with portions of wooded land, open land and a large pond. In the 1953 map, the site is depicted as open land and agricultural land with a levee and pond. In the 1968 and 1979 map, the pond has been removed. 2.4 Interviews An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the site from the property owner or key site manager of the property. An Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement were completed by Mr. Nhon Tan Vien, property owner on August 26, 2015. A copy of the responses has been included in this report as Appendix D. In responses to the questionnaire, Mr. Vien indicated he purchased the site in 2005 an indicated Mike nna is the site manager. Mr. Vien noted the site is improved with 25 acres (z I) cherries, 60 acre of grapes and one modular home. Mr. Vien noted water is provi well and wasLe wat6r is disposed of by an on-site septic system. Mr. Vien was not aware of any environmental concerns assocaT wl —the sib 3.0 PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION 3.1 Research Methods Terracon employs a standard practice for review of database information. On a street map showing the location of the site, a circle is drawn one-quarter mile out from the property boundaries, and street maps or web-based mapping services are then used to determine address ranges for all streets within the quarter mile.
