The project site is located within the Airport Influence Area (AIA) of New Jerusalem Airport, and, pursuant to the State Aeronautics Act (Public Utilities Code Section 21676), is subject to a Consistency Determination by the San Joaquin County ALUC. LAND USE CONSISTENCY REVIEW This project site is located on the northeast side of SR 33, east of SR99 East Frontage Road. The project includes a Site Approval for the construction of a 1,020 sq. ft. prayer and meditation center for a maximum of 20 people with up to 5 people living on site. The land uses proposed are compatible with the adopted 2009 Safety Zones for New Jerusalem Airport. The standards and project design conditions specific to compliance with the ALUCP and should be carried through as conditions of approval are as follows: 1. New land uses that may cause visual, electronic, or increased bird strike hazards to aircraft in flight shall not be permitted within any airport's influence area. Specific characteristics to be avoided include: o Glare or distracting lights which could be mistaken for airport lights. Reflective materials are not permitted to be used in structures or signs(excluding traffic directing signs); o Sources of dust, steam, or smoke which may impair pilot visibility; o Sources of electrical interference with aircraft communications or navigation. No transmissions which would interfere with aircraft radio communications or navigational signals are permitted. o Any proposed use, especially landfills and certain agricultural uses, that creates an increased attraction for large flocks of birds.
