I
L December 5,2005
NOA Project Number: E05118A
personal communication with Kathy Reinstein on November 12,2005, she recalled that the five
acres had been split off of the original parcel years ago, and the septic system and well would most
likely have been associated with the five acres.
t- 3.1.7 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources
The California Department of Oil, Gas,and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) well map W5-320
was reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. One well
was depicted on the subject property. The name of this well is "Reece Community 1."The operator
L of the well drilling was D.J. Pickrell. The well drilling commenced on June 11, 1962 and was
completed on June 19, 1962 after having been found dry.The total depth of the well was 5,498 feet
and was plugged to the surface after completion. The well was sealed 36 inches below ground
Lsurface. The well summary report is included as Appendix F.
3.1.8 Site Reconnaissance
LA visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on November 8,2005. Photographs
of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment checklist
I, is attached to this report as Appendix D.
L The subject property was observed to be flat and rectangular in shape. The five-acre adjacent
property indents into the property near the center of the eastern side. No structures exist on the
property. The entire property is used as almond orchard. The northern boundary is defined by
Route 132, and the southern boundary by Blewett Road.
LTwo pole-mounted transformers were observed on the subject property;one near the southwest
comer of the subject property and one near the center of the eastern side of the subject property.
Both transformers were observed to be in good condition. The transformers both had silver retrofit
stickers, but no blue PCB-free stickers were observed.
Near the center of the east property line was a debris pile that appeared to have been dumped on
Lthe subject property (Figure 4).Two car batteries, several empty gasoline containers, three tires and
other miscellaneous debris were observed in this pile. Near the northeast comer of the subject
Lproperty,a bum pile and a few piles of miscellaneous debris were observed (Figures 7, 8&9).
Surrounding properties were surveyed at the time of the site reconnaissance. To the south of the
subject property was farm land and a few single family residences. To the west of the subject
L, property was orchard with a residence. To the north of the property was Route 132. Beyond Route
132 was open farm land and a single family residence. To the east of the subject property was
orchard and a residence. To the immediate east was a five-acre parcel which indented into the
L. subject property and was surrounded on three sides by the subject property.
L20Califomia Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources,2005,well map 606.
10
V
L
