Upgradient Contributions of Agricultural Effluent and Others
There are several sources for the potential degradation of the groundwater that are in the vicinity of
the expansion of dairy facility, as included in "impacts to groundwater and downgradient wells".
Additionally, natural sources of peat soils are located in the general vicinity of the dairy. Vineyards and
orchards using commercial fertilizers and chemicals commonly have run-off & penetration of
groundwater.
The dairy operation is in an intensive agricultural/farming area. Many of the neighboring properties
use commercial fertilizers for their crops.
®Western Design/David Avila 2001 20
