Identify locations from which samples will be taken. Take at least one sample from
each different type of soil as shown on the soils map.
2. First Sample: 1 ft. to 2 ft. deep. Use a tape measure to measure the depth of the
hole. Collect soil and place into a zip lock bag. Label the bag according to labeling
procedures(Below). Put bag into ice chest.
3. Second Sample: 3 ft. to 4 ft. deep. Use a tape measure to measure the depth of the
- hole. Collect soil and place into a zip lock bag. (i.e. S1-2', S2-4', S3-
6'...etc., "S" represents"soil", "1" represents location number, and"-2"' represents
2 feet depth collected).
4. Label the bags with the date, time and depth of sample with a description of sample
location.
All soil samples collected for laboratory analysis were labeled and immediately placed into an ice chest
chilled to 4°Celsius. All sampling information was recorded on the Chain of Custody forms.
Water Sample:
Materials Needed: Water Sample Containers,Felt Tip Permanent Marker,Ball Point Pen, Labels
for Water Bottles.
