` October 2,2006 4/NOA Project Number: E06102A 2.3 USGS Topographic Maps The topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S. Geological Survey,Thornton, California,quadrangle map. One 7.5-minute map dated 1978 was available at NOA;the same map was available through Microsoft Terraserver. In the 1978 map, the subject property is depicted as vacant land. The property is depicted at approximately 10 feet above mean sea level with a slope down to the southwest at a rate of approximately 15 feet per mile. Surrounding land is vacant, residential, and orchard. This map is included in Appendix C of this report. V /2.4 Interviews �• An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the subject property from the property owner or key site manager of the property. An Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement was completed by Cary and Karolyn Fooshee, and a second Questionnaire was completed by Marco Pires. The previous owner of the property,a Mr.Sartini,declined to complete the Questionnaire. Copies of the responses have been included in this report as Appendix E. 1 /in their responses to the Questionnaire,the Fooshees indicated no knowledge of structures,wells,septic systems,storage tanks,chemical storage,or chemical spills on the subject property. They purchased the property in 2005. He purchased the property in 2004. /3.0 PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION v 3.1 Research Methods NOA employs a standard practice for review of database information. On a street map showing the location of the subject property,a circle is drawn one-quarter mile out from the property boundaries, and street maps or web-based mapping services are then used to determine address ranges for all streets �. within the quarter mile. All agency databases searchable by address are then searched for these address ranges. 4
