Ms. Leanne Mueller
June 27, 2002
Page 2
• If improvements to the State Highway System are required as a result of this proposal,
a Caltrans Encroachment Permit will be required for any work performed within the
right-of-way. Additional biological, archaeological, or other environmental studies
may be required as a part of the Encroachment Permit Application. A qualified
professional must conduct any studies undertaken to satisfy the Caltrans
environmental review responsibilities. Ground disturbing activities to the site prior to
completion and/or approval of required environmental documents may effect
Caltrans' ability to issue a permit for the project. Furthermore, if engineering plans or
drawings will be part of your permit application, they must be prepared in both metric
and standard units.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss these comments in more detail, please
contact Mike Higgins at (209) 948-3996 (e-mail: mhiggins@dot.ca..gov .
Sincerely,
TOM DUMAS, Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
'Caltrans improves mobility across Califomia'
606100.SJ. t LLEKS❑GH-SITE APPROVAL APP.PA-0200237
HIGGMS.n
