The last half hour of the tests was witnessed by David Van Dyne of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. The maximum acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for shallow
perc tests.
,,/( 50 and 6.8 The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, potential septic system
structure based on depth of passing perc rates, proposed acreage, post soak period status and perc test
results for the respective perc test depths:
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED SHALLOW PERC TEST POST SOAK PERC TEST
AND SEPTIC SYSTEM ACREAGE DEPTHS PERIOD RESULTS
STRUCTURE
STATUS
Homesite Parcel 5.0 Acres 42 INCHES No Standing
Leachlines Water in Hole
Designated Remainder 35.37 Acres 42 INCHES No Standing
Parcel Water in Hole 5.6 mil]/in
Leachlines
(§ 4--.0) LOCAL GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER INFORMATION
(§ 411)The 1999 Lines of Equal Depth Map published by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
illustrates the groundwater depth to be approximately 10 feet below ground surface (bgs). As
referenced, a ten-foot exploratory boring was hand-drilled in the future leachfield. Although the
soil was very moist at the 10 ft depth, the zone of saturation was not encountered. Therefore, the
zone of saturation is assumed to be approximately 15 bgs. The 1999 Lines of Equal Elevation Map
illustrates the groundwater directional flow in a westerly direction toward the San Joaquin River.
A Well Driller's Log exists for the adjacent domestic well to the north. Underground lithology
consists of intervening strata of sand and clay. The property is not subject to 100-year flooding.
Therefore, it is highly unlikely there would be surfacing of effluent from inundated conditions.
Surface stormwater will be managed by the surrounding almond orchard.
((9 anc4. ) One domestic well is currently on Parcel 1 that serves the Dutra residence and
one ag well is on the Remainder. A new domestic well is proposed for the Chavez home. The
Dutra domestic well was sampled from the hose bibb next to the east side of the pressure tank. A
clear plastic bottle was used for the nitrate sample and three amber VOC bottles were used for the
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Ethylene Dibromide (EDB) samples. The well was allowed
to cycle four times to ensure the sampling of aquifer formation water.
-/(§14.6)' The samples were placed in a cooled ice chest and transported under the attached Chain
of Custody to A & L Labs in Modesto, California to be analyzed for nitrate, DBCP, and EDB.
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
