Analysis
Three letters in opposition have been received from surrounding property owners which raise concerns
regarding noise, odors, and health. An additional issue not raised by neighbors is screening.
i
Noise
Because there are residences adjacent to this site on the west and east and across the street to the
north, it is recommended that the dogs remain inside the kennel building between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00
a.m. every night.
Odors and Health
The following regulation applies:
• All animal enclosures, including'but not limited to pens, cages, and feed areas, shall be
maintained free from litter, garbage, and excessive accumulation of manure, so as to discourage
the proliferation`of flies, other disease vectors, and offensive'odors. The premises shall be
maintained in a neat and sanitary manner. (Development Title Section 9-1045.7[b])
As a recommended Condition of Approval, the Environmental Health Division will review the kennel plans
to ensure compliance with specific requirements for kennel construction.
