o Provide a planting plan — Please refer to the attached letter from Selby's
Soil for specifics regarding the planting plan. It is anticipated that this
hydroseeding will occur in the early fall, prior to the fall rains. The site
will be seeding in accordance with the reclamation sequence described in
the Reclamation schedule included in the permit application. Once seeded,
the area will be periodically watered to maintain moisture until the first
rains. This mixture tends to germinate quickly and will not likely require
protection from predetation. In addition this area will be used for grazing
following mining and the mix will provide appropriate grazeland plants.
■ Attachements
• Letter from Selby's Soil
• Map indicating hydroseeding locations
• Monitoring and Maintenance
To ensure the proposed reclamation is successful, the following monitoring
schedule will be followed. For a maximum of two years, at a rate of once
every six months, the site will be inspected to verify the reclamation is
appropriate for the post-mining land use of grazeland. At the completion of
the two year monitoring program, an as-built will be completed and submitted
as required. If it is found that at the end of the two year period additional
monitoring is required, the inspections will continue every six months until it
is deemed that the vegetation is sufficient by a certified biologist. Granite
Construction Company will continue to be responsible for the monitoring and
upkeep of the property until such time as the reclamation is deemed complete.
These reclamation activities will be monitored through the annual SMARA
inspections, as required.
• Public Safety
The site will be fenced with a 10-foot chainlink fence prior to commencement
4
of mining activities.
