Zimbra http://bnm:180/zimbra/h/printmessage?id=10620
Z11'1'lbra mhatef@sjgov.org
±Font size
Letter of Support for Abundance Vineyards December 18th,
2010 meeting
From:Tom&Linda <tggiider@comcast.net> Mon,Dec 13,2010 10:16 PM
Subject:Letter of Support for Abundance Vineyards December 18th,2010 meeting
To :Mo Hatef<rnhatef@sjgov.org>
Cc:jhickey@inshapeclubs.com,Tomgaring@mac.com,sipncab@live.com,
bluesslide@comcast.net,caroldelariva@yahoo.com,office@abundancevineyards.com
Ms.Hatef
My wife Linda and I are approaching retirement, have lived in the Lodi area
for over 10 years, and one of the reasons that we chose to relocate to this
area is the"abundance"of small wineries in the area. The local wineries
and the assortment of events that they sponsor each year, promote the local
wine businesses and,for that matter, expand income for San Joaquin county.
We are members at several of the wineries, and the Abundance Friday and/or
Saturday evening music venues has become one of our favorite events that we
have routinely attended during the last two years since they opened. We
find that the attendees to the individual,are"baby-boomers like we,who
enjoy good ole Rock n Roll or"easy listen'in jazz"along with a nice glass
of wine as a great way to socialize with folks. We have attended over a
dozen events(that are often attended'by families)and have NEVER seen any
individuals become routey or create any sort of disturbance at these great
affairs. Further, the Abundance owners always have a guard service with at
least two or three robust looking uniformed individuals on hand to assist in
+ monitoring activities and assisting guests in parking.
The music is not excessively loud, does not appear to carry across Turner
road,as the bands most always face to the south, and the concert ALWAYS
stop exactly at 10 PM
I understand that San Joaquin County is inquiring as to the nature of these
affairs, and all I would suggest is for you and several of the County
Supervisors to attend one of the outings at Abundance,if you really want to
get a flair for what is going on at these great family events. These events
are very similar to Jessie Grove's"Groov'n in the Grass"concerts and
Michael David's Reggae concert.
While I understand that you are charged with looking at all issues from a
higher vantage point, for the good of all county residents,I am hopeful
that you and your inquiry team, will determine that these events are
essential to stimulating the economic rebirth of the area in general, and
the County in particular.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Tom Garing
834 Cypress Run
Woodbridge,CA 95258
1 of 2 12/14/2010 8:27 AM
