Duke and Associates to conduct a Soil <br /> Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study (SS/NLS) for the property at 1150 West Turner Road in Lodi, <br /> California (the "Site"}. <br /> The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, the <br /> EHD's Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements <br /> Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br /> 1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> 1.1. Introduction and Proposed Development <br /> The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section <br /> 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br /> included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by <br /> San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD). <br /> In addition to conducting percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic <br /> maps, and groundwater information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use <br /> /with a septic system. <br /> 1.1.1 Site Description <br /> The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 029-020-02. The parcel is 45.91 acres in <br /> size. The County application number is PA-07-082. The Site is currently planted in vineyard. A <br /> residence was recently demolished near the center of the northern portion of the property, and <br /> a small shed still exists close to the same area as the former residence (Plate 1). <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic map, is <br /> between approximately 30 and 35 feet above mean sea level. The land grades up gently to the <br /> east. <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department (www.co.san- <br /> joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel <br /> size of 40 acres.
