Wastewater Treatment System <br /> ,` The constructed wetland should be inspected periodically to assure the integrity of the liner, <br /> berm, vegetation, and outlet structures are maintained. <br /> %W <br /> %W 6.1.1. Inspect the wetland liner and embankments <br /> 6.1.1.1.Monthly <br /> 1. Inspect liner for rips and tears. <br /> 2. Inspect the liner for foreign objects that may cause rips. <br /> 3. Inspect the berm for possible rodent or other animal burrows that may cause damage. <br /> r, 4. Inspect liner keyways for evidence of displacement. <br /> ` 6.1.1.2.After Storm Events <br /> 5. Inspect the berm for possible erosion problems. <br /> ` 6. Inspect the stormwater detention area for any signs of erosion. <br /> 6.1.2. Septic and Pump Tanks <br /> 1. Monthly—Check pump, floats and equipment for proper operation <br /> 2. Biannually—Inspect the septic tank and effluent pump basin for solids accumulation, <br /> have the tanks pumped as necessary. <br /> _ 6.1.3. Inspect outlet structures <br /> 1. Weekly - inspect wetland influent piping for obstructions of floating debris. <br /> 2. Monthly—inspect overflow piping. <br /> -- 3. Biannually—inspect the outlet structures for proper elevations. <br /> 6.2. Land Disposal Fields <br /> 6.2.1. Weekly Field and Equipment Assessment <br /> On a weekly basis, a walk through should be performed on the fields. Note odors, or other <br /> nuisances, and standing water. If any of these conditions are present, then the field rotation <br /> schedule should be reexamined and alternative zones for wastewater application may need to be <br /> added. <br /> Equipment should also be checked for readiness. Check the pumping system to be certain that it <br /> has not become clogged and does not require maintenance. Patrol irrigation lines to unclog any <br /> nozzles plugged by solids in the wastewater. Mow or otherwise control grass and weed growth <br /> around risers, valve boxes, and drain points to keep them clear. <br /> Valves and pipelines should not leak.
