Wastewater Treatment System " FALL CREEK
` Engineering Report ./. ENGINEERING,INC.
6.2.2. Equipment Maintenance
Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions. At all times, stock adequate
spare parts for pumps, pipes, and valves. Keep a log of the equipment service record for each
*A' piece of equipment including: equipment make, model, capacity, voltage, and the date, time and
staff member work record on the piece of equipment.
6.3. Wastewater Monitoring
t
It is important to routinely monitor raw and treated wastewater quality. Information gathered
about water quality should be complied by Winery staff and kept in a manner that is easy to
access and clear to read and understand. The information should be reviewed frequently to
assess whether the constituents are in their normal ranges and whether the treatment system is
performing as designed. If an abnormality is detected then an analysis of the system should be
made.
Samples should be collected both at the inlet side of the septic tank and in the effluent pump
basin.
Daily wastewater flow measurements should be recorded. Monthly samples should be analyzed
for pH, specific conductance, total dissolved solids (TDS), volatile dissolved solids (VDS),
biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), total nitrogen (TN), and
sulfate (mg/L).
`.
`►
\r
r
r
rr
IESSIE's GROVE WINERY MAY 2002
24
L.
