Any wrinkles shall
be smoothed out.
3) Factory and field splices shall have a strength of 80% of the specified sheet strength and
shall be demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Engineer.
4) Bonding of the splices shall be thorough so as to assure a waterproof wetland liner and
`W shall be inspected by the Engineer when completed.
► 5) The liner should not be pulled too tight. The lined area should be walked after deployment to insure that the liner is lying
flat in all areas. Sandbags should be spread out across the exposed area to protect against
wind damage. At this point the perimeter of the liner should be temporarily secured. If
the liner is allowed to contract overnight or if water is placed in the wetland, these
activities will help seat the liner. The edge of the liner can now be anchored or secured in
the anchor trench or totally secured with backfill or other ballast materials. Now you're
ready to introduce liquid into your wetland/ lagoon.
5.4.3. Contact surfaces shall
be a minimum of 4' wide.
3) Any wrinkles shall be smoothed out.
5.4.4. Quality of Workmanship
All lining surfaces showing injury due to scuffing, penetration by foreign objects or distress from
rough sub-grade shall, as directed by the Engineer, be repaired with an additional layer of liner
which extends a minimum of 6" past any damaged areas.
6.
