Installation Quality Control <br /> 5.4.1. Panel Placement <br /> 1) Installation shall be performed by a contractor who has previously installed this material <br /> or by a contractor who has a fabricator field representative in attendance. <br /> 2) The surface (substrate) to receive the liner shall be smooth and free of sharp objects that <br /> ., could puncture the lining. <br /> 3) All vegetation must be removed. The lining shall be placed over the prepared surfaces to <br /> be lined in such a manner as to assure minimum handling. <br /> 4) The lining shall be closely fitted and sealed around inlets, outlets and other projections <br /> `r through the lining. <br /> %W 5) The panels should not be unfolded under extreme cold or windy conditions. <br /> 6) The liner shall be installed in a relaxed condition, free of stress or tension. Stretching the <br /> liner to fit is not permissible. <br /> %W 7) Sandbags are required to keep panels in place during installation-minimum of 25 bags per <br /> %W panel. <br /> 8) Driving on liner is permitted only with 12" dirt over the lining. No sharp turns or <br /> excessive speeds allowed. <br /> %W 9) Structures, piping, concrete, drains and any associated work should be completed prior to <br /> lining installation. <br /> 10)Care should be taken to avoid wrinkles in the seam area and around mechanical <br /> attachments. <br /> 11)Take time when unloading and placing rolls of lining to avoid damage. Verify location of <br /> sheet before unrolling and placement to avoid improper alignment. <br /> 12)Liner shall be covered after installation. <br /> 13)If problems or questions arise, contact Colorado Lining International for assistance, (303) <br /> 841-2022 or(800) 524-8672. <br /> �. 5.4.2. Field Joints <br /> 1) Lap joints shall be used to seal factory fabricated panels of PVC together in the field. The <br /> panels shall be positioned so that there is a nominal 6-inch seam overlap.
