CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD CENTRAL VALLEY REGION ORDER NO. T11 WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS FOR SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS, INC. SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, (hereafter Board) finds that: 1. Sebastian Vineyards, Inc. (hereafter Discharger), submitted a Report of Waste Discharge, dated 28 May 1998 for installation of a new winery and wastewater disposal system needed because of increases in wine production. _. Waste Discharge Requirements (VJDRs) Order No. 94-055, adopted by the Board on ii i 25 February 1994, prescribes requirements for the discharge of cooling eater, wash water, and a small amount of treated groundwater to shallow checks for evaporation and percolation. These ';;k7DRs are inadequate for regulating discharges from the Q expanded operations. 3. Sebastiani Vineyards consists of two facilities: Turner Road Vintners East(TRV East) and Turner Road Vintners West (TRV West). TRV East was formerly known as the Vendanae Wine Cellars; TRV Nest was known as the Nathanson Creek Wine Cellars. y 4. TRV East,the main winery facility (Assessor's Parcel No. 025-120-26), is on a 24-acre parcel, approximately 1 mile east of Interstate 5 at 4614 West Turner Road, near Lodi in San Joaquin County. The TRV West facility (Assessor's Parcel No. 025-120-01) is on a 63 acre parcel, at 5852 West Turner Road, approximately 2/3 mile west of the TRV East facility. The locations of these facilities are shown on Attachment A,which is attached hereto and is part of this Order by reference. 5. The expansion of operations at TRV East required that a new winery and wastewater disposal system be constructed (TRV West). Expansion began in 1998 and is estimated to continue through the next five years. Upon completion, all receiving, crushing, and pressing of grapes will be conducted at the TRV West facility, as shown on Attachment B, attached hereto and part of this Order by reference. Other activities, including fermentation and processing into finished wines,bulk transfer j of grape juice and finished wines,bottling, and distribution, will be conducted at TRV East, as shown on Attachment C, attached hereto and part of this Order by reference.
