/The repair records do not indicate when the original septic systems were installed. The system
installed at the subject parcel would be in 1963 and would be 43 years old at present. Percolation
tests previously conducted on the parcel to the west indicate stratas of sand and also layers of
hard pan. The repair record is considered acceptable and it is recognized pits are required to
reach the sand layers.
GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
/The map"Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater, Spring 1999 shows approximately 105'to static
water.
There are no known groundwater contamination issues on or near the site.
water was 1 d t€sted by the West Labs of Riverbank, Ca. The results are
itra8 DBCP-<0.01 Ug/L. ere is no chain of custody since the lab only was
involved. The sample log- ed along with the test results.
No representative of Earnest F. Smith&Associates was present when the lab sampled the
existing well on the Designated Remainder.
SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION
k/No pit was dug for the profile. The profile is determined by observing the material removed from
the drilled hole as it is augured. The top 12 to 18 inches is disced and is somewhat organic and
below that is hardpan to approximately 8 feet. A layer of sandy clay exists from 8'to
approximately 13' and then a layer of sand exists to aproximately 16'. Hard pan begins at
approximately 17'. The sand strata should support an on site septic system for a single family
residence.
PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
The Tentative Parcel Map shows the location of the satisfactory percolation test hole on Parcel 1.
Four holes were augured, two on the designated remainder and two on Parcel 1. All four holes
indicated the sand layer exists at the approximate depth stated above.
The two 4"diamenter test holes on Parcel 1 were sleeved with PVC pipe. Two inches of small
gravel were placed in the bottom of the holes. Additional gravel was placed around the PVC pipe
as shown on the included schematic detail. The two holes were deep holes. The 24 hour pre-soak
began on March 22 at 1000 hours. (6" of water placed in each hole) Both holes were dry after the
24 hour soak. The percolation test for the shallow hole(42")was conducted on Mar. 30,
2007.The tests conformed to SJC Policy EHD 02-02.
2.
