J
5.0 SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION SECTION:
5.1 Site map showing location, with dimensions, of the soil profile pit on the parcel: See
Appendix.
5.2 Description of soil profile pit including depth and dimensions: The shallow test hole was
prepared per County Standards. The hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
8 inches in diameter. It was backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel."
No deep tests were performed.
5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Archerdale Clay Loam as
stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States
Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Archerdale Clay
Loam has low permeability. The percolation rates do not reflect this characteristic probably due
to a deep rip grading performed only a few years ago. (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
_ 6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: One shallow percolation test hole was prepared. No deep percolation tests were
performed.
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test hole was excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County
Standards. The shallow hole was prepared by Louie Mendez of Dillon & Murphy on April 26,
2005. On April 28, 2005 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The hole was
filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time Environmental Health Department
was notified of the start of the test.
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour
Soak Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.): On
April 29, 2005 the single shallow test hole contained no water. Six inches of water was added to
the hole. There was a substantial drop in the water level and the shallow test was deemed
suitable to complete.
3
c:\0362\Soil Report 050405
