INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to divide a 40 acre parcel into 2 parcels. In accordance with the
San Joaquin County Development Title, this Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report
(SSCR) is being submitted for application with the tentative map. This report will investigate the
property for visual or historical environmental contamination based on field observation and
testimony from the owners.
Proiect Description
The project consists of one parcel located at 6066 S. Van Allen Road, Farmington. The
Assessor's parcel number is 183-350-09. The project is in an agriculture area. It is zoned
AG-40. The site has a vineyard and no buildings. See tentative map included in the appendix.
The project, when completed, will contain a future homesite. The proposed parcel will be 4
acres. The homesite is being created as a "financing parcel."
Proiect History
The primary source of information on the historical use of the property is testimony from the
_ owners and records from the County(San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office
and the San Joaquin County Contaminated Site List). The Murphy family has owned the
property more than 20 years. This property, and all surrounding properties, have had consistent
uses in the time the Murphy's have owned the property. Consistant uses include agriculture
(vineyards, walnuts, and row crops).
The results of researching the County records, yielded the product shown in the appendix. ✓
The property is managed by S-K/Triple "S" Farms. All products are applied per manufacturer's
recommendations. All chemicals are applied under permit. Chemicals are applied under permit
to "Murphy Farms."
Field Investigation
The following information was obtained during a field investigation of the site as well as
interviewing the property owners. The field investigation and interview occurred on
April 15, 2004. Joe Murphy met with property owner Tom Murphy on this date.
This site has an existing vineyard on it. The vineyard is sprinklered but there are no wells on this
site. The area has no public sewer or water.
According to the owner, there are no buried tanks on the property. There are no visual signs of
any such tanks (ground settling, irregular ground, etc.)
The depth to groundwater in this vicinity is approximately 110 feet. The project is bounded on
the north by Little John's Creek.
1
CA0362 Surface and Subsurface Report
