The Initial Study identified several potentially significant impacts that this project may have upon the environment. Enclosed is the Initial Study, which includes a detailed description of each of the potentially significant impacts that were noted. Based upon this, staff has concluded that it will be necessary to have an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) prepared for this project. In order to proceed with the preparation of the EIR on your Quarry Excavation application. an initial fee of $2 , 000. 00 is required in order to prepare the Notice of Preparation (NOP) . This amount is then credited toward the price of the EIR total. You will also be responsible for the costs of preparing and administering the EIR. If you wish to have a particular consulting firm included on the Request for Proposal distribution list, please have them submit their qualification material the Planning Division as soon as possible. Once the consultant is selected by the County, you will be required to submit a second fee to cover the cost of the EIR preparation, as well as a 25 percent administrative fee. Once that is accomplished, the County will enter into an EIR Agreement with the consultant, and preparation of the EIR will begin. As soon as we receive your check in the amount of $2 , 000. 00 made payable to the San Joaquin County Treasurer, we will begin preparation of the NOP. Should you fail to deposit these monies by May 30, 1990, the application will be considered withdrawn.
