GEOSYNTEC CONSULTANTS
Ms. Amy Terrell
18 November 2004
Page 4
located within the field-scale pilot test area at the site and the results are discussed in
more detail below. TON and ammonia were detected in MW-3 at concentrations
similar to previous results.
The pesticides detected in the sample collected from MW-2 were within the range
of previous detections. Pesticides were not detected in MW-3. Chlorinated herbicides
were not detected in samples taken from MW-2 or MW-3 during the 3rd quarter 2004
sampling event. A duplicate sample, taken from MW-2 had a detection of 2,4,5-TP of
0.12 micrograms per liter(µg/L).
Downgradient—MW-5
Well MW-5 is located about 350 ft east of the site on Welty Road. TON was
detected in the sample at a concentration of 21.3 mg/L, and ammonia was detected at a
concentration of 1.46 mg/L, consistent with previous results. EDB and 1,2,3-TCP were
also detected in MW-5 during the current sampling event. The concentration of 1,2-
DCP was higher than previous monitoring events; GeoSyntec will continue to evaluate
results for this well in the is` quarter 2005 sampling event. No other target analytes
were detected in this well.
OA/OC Review
GeoSyntec conducted a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) review of the
analytical data. Data were reviewed for completeness, accuracy, precision, sample
contamination, conformance with holding times, and detection limits within acceptable
ranges. Results of the review indicate the data are of acceptable quality.
SUMMARY OF REMEDIAL ACTIVITIES
Remedial activities conducted in 2004 are summarized and discussed below.
Status of Field-Scale Pilot Test
By letter dated 21 September 2001, GeoSyntec received approval from the
RWQCB to implement and monitor a pilot-scale field test for enhanced in-situ
P:\PRJ2003REW W FS\V ER\MONF\3Q04\W C04066.do
a.wim no zcwwaF
