Surface &Subsurface Contamination Report Page 15
Sandhu Property
L Project No. 522.1
March 9, 2006
the groundwaterGo)
awestern side of the Western farm service facility.
In early 2005, sundwater monitoring wells were constructed at the
site. The most recent available groundwater monitoring report for the site is
from the third quarter on 2005.
San Joaquin County Assessor's Office
The San Joaquin County Assessor's office, located at 24 South Hunter Street,
Room 303, in Stockton, CA was visited on March 3, 2006. The records contained ,
no information regarding former buildings on the Property except a notation
.. that all buildings were removed in 1972. The commercial assessor on duty
explained that the older records had been discarded.
San Joaquin County Agricultural Commission
The former owner of the Property indicated that no agricultural chemicals have
been used on the site since it has been used to grow hay (about 15 years). This
in conjunction with the fact that it takes up to 8 weeks for the agency to respond
to requests for pesticide use permits led to the conclusion that there was little /
point to filing a request for use reports.
Private Records
Fred Strauss of Western Farm Service provided a summary of information
regarding groundwater contamination sourced from the site. Records on file
with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department superceded
6, his information and consequently, the information is not attached to this report.
3.3 Historical Aerial Photo Review
Local resources were used to study available aerial photographs. The McHenry
Museum located at 15th and I Streets in Modesto has an aerial photograph and
land use map library, which was searched as a part of this assessment. Geo-
Phase Environmental Inc. personnel visited the McHenry Museum and reviewed
their archived historical aerial photographs with flights that extend back to
1937. Other air photos were obtained at the San Joaquin County Department of
Public Works, Survey Department located at 1810 East Hazelton Avenue. An
additional air photo was obtained from TerraServer. Selected photographs were
photocopied to include in this report (Appendix Q.
EDR Sanborn was contacted to search for any available Sanborn fire insurance
map that might cover the Property. The company reported that no such maps
are available for this part of Stockton. A letter to that effect is included in
v Appendix C.
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc. Phone: (209) 569-0293
Modesto, CA 95356 Fax: (209) 569-0295
