GROUND WATER - Nitrate Study
In the original Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study done on October 7,1999 it was necessary to
obtain water samples from a nearby well since the site had no well at the time. The sample was then sub-
mitted to FGL Environmental laboratory and tested for nitrates per county requirements. The test results
indicated that the nitrate level was 64 mgA. This result exceeded the maximum contaminate level of 45
mgA set by the EPA.
New SW& The Home Church had a well drilled by Purviance Drillers of Linden in June of 2002.
Water samples are taken regularly by FGL Laboratory to satisfy the typical public water system regulations.
FGL Environmental Laboratory nitrate test results are as follows:
July 31,2003 - 2 mgA
The results are considerably below the contaminate level of 45 mgA set by the EPA.
5. SOILS
According to the Soils Report dated October 7, 1999 by Neil Anderson and Associates, the soils at
the site consist of a gray-brown, sandy clay between 0 to 2.5 feet, followed by a brown clay, fine sand to a
depth of 9 feet. A rusty colored, fine to medium sand was found past the 9 feet.
Updated Information. In a conversation with Dave Welch on June 8, 2004, he stated, based on our
Soils Report, that a soil factor of .225 should be used to calculate leach line requirements.
6.
