. KLEINFELDER
DBCP was not present in detectable amounts. This nitrate concentration is below the (
state drinking water standard. Copies of the test results and the chain-of-custody are
r
presented on Plate 9.
We do not know of any existing and/or potential groundwater contamination issues in
, the project vicinity. There are no existing gas stations or dairies adjacent to the
property. Seasonal fertilization of the off-site agricultural land, if performed, and other
septic tank/leach field systems in the project area is probably the largest contributor of
nitrogen to groundwater in the project vicinity.
7. SOIL PROFILE
The subsurface soil encountered in our soil profile boring consisted of low-plastic clay
to a depth of less than 1 foot below site grade, followed silty sand to a depth of about 4
feet. The sand was underlain by low- to non-plastic sandy silt to a depth of about 7
feet, followed by highly-interbedded strata of clayey sand, silty sand, and clayey silt to
(/ /) the depth explored.
` r
J
The Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California published by the U.S. Department
of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service (1992) refers to the near-surface soil within
the project area as belonging to the Acampo Sandy Loam soil series (Map Symbol
101). This soil is described as having "moderate" percolation characteristics for septic r5
tank absorption. Other attributes are given in the table below:
Map Soil Name Available Water PH Organic
S mbolCapacity, inches/inch I I Content, percent
101 Acampo Sandy Loam 0.10 - 0.14 6.6 - 8.4 1-3
8. PERCOLATION TESTING
The results of our percolation tests are presented below. A copy of our field
percolation test results is attached.
Test Soil Test Hole Percolation SJCEHD
Number Description Depth ft. Since lower permeable sandy silt was located within
a o6 uFfi incFies of the silty sand layer, it is our professional opinion that the sit layer will
59149.G01/ST05R1062 August 30,2005
Copyright 2005 Kleinfelder, Inc.
