L
LNovember 27,2006
NOA Project Number: E06115A
Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well sounderwith an depth accuracy of 1/100th foot. All tabulated
values on the field data sheet(appendix) are in decimal feet After water drop was observed, the 01-6)
holes were checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft(6 inches) of water above the
bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes
for a period of four hours.
6.6 Percolation Test Forms and Results
L
The completed percolation test form is included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth;a
satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop. A
deep percolation test is defined as being between 3.5 and 25 feet in depth;a satisfactory percolation
rate for a deep test is 30 min/in or less. One percolation test must demonstrate a satisfactory
percolation rate within the proposed septic system disposal field of each parcel to be suitable for a
standard septic system. Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Tables 6 through 10.
Table 6.
Summary of Percolation Tests for Marina Office & Snack S op Disposal Area 1
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration (see notes)
Snack Shop&Office 3.27 83.3 ✓ 4-hr Failed Pere Rate
9-12-06
Snack Shop&Office 3.12 125 / 4-hr Faded Perc Rate
9-12-06
Snack Shop&Office 6.8 22.7 ,/ 4-hr Satisfactory Petc Rate
10-13-06
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallov✓'test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
LA satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch.
Table 7.
Summary of Percolation Tests for Potential RV Disposal Field Area 2
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration (see notes)
h
10-12-06 1.15 t/ No movement 4-hr Failed Pere Rate
10-12-06 1.18 t/ No movement 4-hr Failed Pere Rate
10-12-06 1.65 ✓ No movement 4-hr Failed Perc Rate
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallov/'test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
A satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch.
10
6. -44
r
