• Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2015) and Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report Update (Live Oak,
2016), the Site has been used for agriculture since 1937 or earlier. The Site has been
used to grow fodder and row crops recently; in the past it was dry farmed. Many of the
structures on the Site appear to date to the 1950s or earlier. Two mobile homes were
reportedly placed on the Site in the 1990s; one mobile home was removed in 2016.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the tentative parcel map (Quartaroli, 2016), four septic systems are „
currently located on the Site, one at each house, one at the existing mobile home, and
one at the location of the former mobile home.
Proposed Septic System
Ms. Stanley indicated that no new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
• Five septic system permits for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department:
• December 1963 permit for new septic system at shop. The system utilized an
800-gallon septic tank and a 100-foot leach line (14629).
• December 1976 permit for addition of one 40-foot leach line and one 33-inch
diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pit to existing system at house (14715).
• November 1993 permit for addition of one 40-foot leach line and one 36-inch
diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pit to existing system at house (14629).
• November 1993 permit for new septic system at mobile home. The system
utilized a 1,200-gallon tank, two 40-foot leach lines, and two 36-inch diameter by
25-foot deep seepage pits (14617).
• July 1999 permit for installation of new septic system at mobile home (14641).
Copies of the permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately four square miles surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that three
• or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
LOGE 1702 Page 2
