Page 2
February 18, 1992
M. S. 92-46
E. GROUND 'WATER DEPTH AND TESTING.
There is a operating farm well on the property. According
on Mr. Santini the well is 210 feet deep with standing ground
water at 67 feet on 1-12-91 . According to the map of "Lines
of Equal Depth to Water in Wells" , published Spring of 1991
by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation
District, the depth to groundwater at this location is
approximately 52 feet. The elevation of the groundwater is
approximately 45 with a northwest gradient.
A water sample was obtained from the well at 0500 pm on
January 29, 1992 by myself. The sample was submitted and
tested by FGL Environmental of Stockton, Calif. for DBCP
(dibromochloropropane) and Nitrates. The results indicate
that both substances tested for were slightly above the
MCL (maximum concentration limits) allowed by law. See
attached test results. (Exhibit "C") .
F. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS.
The site is very sandy and during excavation of the two(2)
percolation test holes sandy soil was encountered for the full
42" depth of each test hole. The test holes (one for Parcel #1
and one for Parcel #2) were filled with water 24 hours prior
to running the test on February 18, 1992. For results of the
tests and test hole location see attached (Exhibit "D" ) .
The percolation rate tested indicated a result of 30 minutes
per inch of percolation. A 10,000 Square Foot area is
recommended to be set aside for the leach field area.
G. CONCLUSIONS.
Based on the results of the percolation tests, the visual
observation of the sandy soil , the past performance of the
existing septic systems it is my opinion that the subject
property is well suited for the use of a septic system. For
added insurance a 25 foot deep septic pit at the end of the
leach lines is recommended. As per San Joaquin County Ordinance
549, the maximum depth for pits is 25 feet with a minimum
of 5 feet above high groundwater. The standing ground water
has been observed at 67 feet. Based on this information the
new proposed septic system should not adversely a-Vf ect the
quality of the ground water in the area .
H.LIMITATIONS.
The conclusions of this report are based do the site conditions
