03/23/2007 15:53 FAX 2093398646 Corporate Office Z001
o e meRiver School
March 23, 2007
San Joaquin County Planning Commission
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Re- Use Permit No. PA-0500531 of Michael and Lisa Douglas (c/o Jerry
Greenmeyer)
Mokelumne River School is located immediately south and adjacent to the
proposed RV Park. We are writing to express concerns voiced by parents of
students in the school, As you are aware, there are already two trailer parks in the
immediate vicinity of the school. The Mokelumne RV Park directly south of the
school has always been a concern. We are aware that this park and the residents
thereof have generated numerous contacts with law enforcement over the years.
We have witnessed vagrant and homeless people lingering around the so called
Beach Resort, On one occasion an individual posed nude outside the entrance
while parents transported their children to school, The Mokelumne Beach Resort
was proposed as an RV Park for vacationing short term users. It has turned into a
location that attracts and houses long term residents.
We are also concerned with potential traffic problems which may be caused by
the new proposed RV Park, with the ingress and egress of up to 147 trailers
coming and going and how this could affect the traffic safety and flow in the area.
Mokelumne River School does not oppose development of the adjourning
property, however, we would like to see it developed in such a manner that does
not adversely impact the school and does not generate any law enforcement
issues.
Sincerely,
Clifford Goehring
President
Mokelumne River School
209.339.4411
POST OFFICE BOX 349 LODI, CALIFORNIA 95241 TELEPHONE (209) 368-7271
