Mokelumne owns the
property at 18950 North Highway 99 East Frontage Road, Acampo, CA. 95220, APN:
017-090-52, which is located directly south and adjacent to the proposed RV Park.
Mokelumne has operated a school at this site for 34 years.
Mokelumne is concerned that the safety and welfare of its students will be
jeopardized by the proximity of the proposed RV Park to the school and the potential for
criminal activity. The school is aware that a large number of calls are generated for law
enforcement by RV Parks. This includes the Mokelumne RV Park, which is located just a
quarter mile directly south of the school. Tower Park Marina is another example in the
area.
Mokelumne is also concerned that the proposed RV Park will become a host to
long-term guests, as has been the case at other RV Parks. On information and belief, the
Mokelumne RV Park began as a short-term stay facility but quickly turned into a mobile
home type park where a large number of guests stay or reside long-term. This heightens
the concern over criminal activity, as well as the possibility that convicted sex offenders
could end up as residents of the park as well.
In sum, Mokelumne is concerned that the issuance of a Use Permit for a second RV
Park on the same frontage road within a quarter mile of each other could make the area
unsafe for the school to operate.
Sincerely,
r
Clifford Goehring
President, MRS
POST OFFICE BOX 349 LODI,CALIFORNIA 95241 TELEPHONE (209) 368-7271
