September 30,2007
6` NOA Project Number: E07147A
4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
L
V4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
b— The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the site.
The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current official maps available from the County.
According to these maps (Plates 3-6),ground water lies between 50 and 60 feet below ground
surface and flows to the northeast in the vicinity of the site. No ground water was encountered by
the staff of Neil O.Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the drilling of a percolation test boring to a
6. depth of twenty-five feet on September 13,2007.
4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
dendifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study. Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources
L, which often include leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems,
and storm water infiltration. Agricultural activities and the use of septic systems in the area should
be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
lj 4.3 Water Sample
o e permits were found during file review at EHD on September 14. 2007.A well water sample
was taken by FGL Environmental in Stockton, California./
L
v 5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of the Lodi and Galt Quadrangle as
within the Quaternary Riverbank Formation. Quaternary Riverbank Formation (upper, lower and
middle members) these units are arkosic alluvium forming Mokelumne River terraces and alluvial
`, fan; chiefly sand;probably glacial outwash lower fans;abundant volcanic detritus (Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
`, to be composed of Kingdon fine sandy loam,Tokay fine sandy loam and Tujunga loam, sand, all
0-2% slopes (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 2 presents some selected properties of these soils:
6.
i
L
4
6- '-A4
L
