07/1 /2006 08:23 FAX laoo6/028
For the purpose of our nitrate loading calculation, we have estimated the average
wastelsewage flow per week for the project site as follows:
(290 person seating capacity x 10 gal/person x 2 days)
+ (50 people/week x 10 gallperson) + (300 gal/day for -,_8 400 calrweek
existing home x 7 days)
I PRESENT AND PAST USE
The majority of the project site is currently in the grading phase of construction with the
existing single-family residence located at the northeast corner of the property. No
I other structures are known to have existed on the parcel at this time. Based on a
historical aerial photograph review and a review of USGS maps, it appears that the
site has consisted of a fallow field area and the existing residential structure for many
years. We saw no evidence that the site has been used as a dairy. We know of no
other past uses of the site at this time.
4. SEPTIC PERMITS ANIS PERFORMANCE
S.ICEHD files were searched to identify septic permits at parcels in the project vicinity.
There were no permits on file for the subject parcel. Seven (7) permits were reviewed
for parcels located adjacent to or near the subject property. These }permits were for
new installations and repairs/additions to existing septic systems. The permitted
sewage: disposal systems were for conventional septiclleach field systems. A
summairy of information obtained from the permits is presented on Plate 3.
5. FIELD INVESTIGATION
In order to evaluate the subsurface conditions at the project site, on May 17, 2006, one
soil profile boring was drilled within the proposed leach field area to a depth of about
15 feet below existing site grade. The boring was drilled using a Simco 2400 truck-
mounted drill rig equipped with 6-inch O.D. solid-stem auger. The approximate boring
location is presented on Plate 2. A representative with our firm maintained a log of the
boring and visually classified the soils encountered according to the Unified Soil
Classification System (see Plate 4). A key to the frog of Boring is presented on Plate 5
and the Log of Boring is presented on Plates 6.
Following completion of the soil profile boring, a percolation test hale P-1 was drilled
within the proposed leach field area at a depth of about 3.2 feet below site grade. The
approximate percolation test hole location is presented on Plate 2. Foliowing drilling;
the sides of the test hole was scored, and significant loose material was removed from
the bottom of the hole. The percolation test hale was then prepared by first placing
shout 2 inches of fine gravel at the bottoms of the We and installing a 4-inch diameter,
11324.GO11ST06R7S Jtsiy 13,2GOG
Copyright 7006 KINnfrlder,Mt..
