KLEINFELDER
SOIL SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
PROPOSED SIKH TEMPLE
4628 E. WOODWARD AVENUE
MANTECA, CA 95337
1. GENERAL
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our so' .uitability and nitrate loading
study for the proposed Sikh Temple to be located at 4620. Woodward venuein
Manteca, California. The Assessors Parcel Number of"the property is. 226-170-di.
n aerial photograph showing the approximate site boundaries is presented-on lat
1. The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for septic
tank usage. The study was performed in general accordance with the requirements of 1`
Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County Ordinance. The following sections include
background information regarding the project site and the proposed development, past
and present uses of the site, existing septic tank performance and permitting, and the
groundwater conditions in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our
investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered during our field
exploration are included. Finally, the results of our percolation tests, nitrate loading
CC calculations, and subsequent conclusions are presented.
F
2. SITE DESCRIPTION 1 PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
.. At the time of our study, the subject 5.83-acre parcel primarily consisted of a relatively
flat area that was in the grading phase of construction. A single.family home existed at
the northeast corner of the property and was surrounded by scattered trees and
bushes. The property was bound to the north by East Woodward Avenue, to the east , c
by a single family residence, scattered trees, and fallow field area, to the west by
South Airport Way, and to the south by a fallow field area. The existing parcel is
zoned AU-22..
We understand that a proposed Sikh Temple with associated paved parking, detention
!# basin, and other improvements, will be constructed on the subject property. An on-site
septic/leach field system will provide sewage disposal. A new domestic well will
provide water for the proposed Sikh Temple. A map showing the approximate-location
of the proposed Sikh Temple, septic/leach field, and well is presented c n teZ
WI id and that the proposed Sikh Temple will have a maximum seating capacity
of 290 Logle, and the building will be used primarily on Saturda and Sundays.
Dg i e middle of a typical week, we understand a maximurr`of 50% eople will use
the facility. The temple will have a kitchen. According to the'SarfJoaquin County
Onsite Wastewater Disposal Standards (pa e, 3 of 25), churches with a kitchen
should be considered to have a water use of 10 Alons/seat per person per day.
 1
tt
71324.GO1/ST06R648 June 19,2006
©2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
