A 55 gallon green steel drum of oily waste was observed open in the oil storage area. Metal fines <br /> were observed stored in an open catch basin under the saw blade in the contractor's shop. All <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. <br /> Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not <br /> adding or removing waste. REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 605. A 30 gallon black steel drum of waste acetonitrile was observed outside the maintenance shop with <br /> no hazardous property, physical state, or accumulation start date listed. A 30 gallon blue steel drum of <br /> sandblast media and metal fines was observed without an accumulation start date; the label had a "use <br /> label by" date of January 29, 2009. Metal fines were observed stored in an unlabeled catch basin under <br /> the saw blade in the contractor's shop. A 55 gallon black steel drum of used grease was observed in the <br /> oil storage area without a hazardous property or physical state; the accumulation start date listed did not <br /> include a year. Three 55 gallon black steel drums of oily debris was observed in the oil storage area <br /> with incomplete labels: one with no hazardous property listed; one with no hazardous property, physical <br /> state, or contents listed; and one with no hazardous property or year of accumulation start date listed. A <br /> 55 gallon black steel drum of oil solids was observed in the oil storage area with no hazardous property <br /> listed. A 55 gallon black steel drum of oil solids was observed in the control room with no hazardous <br /> property or accumulation start date listed. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the <br /> following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. Since it cannot be determined how long the wastes with no accumulation start date have <br /> been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under <br /> manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by November 26, 2011. REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> Notice to Comply - Minor violations: (701, 804, 808) <br /> 701. A 55 gallon black steel drum of oil contaminated debris was observed in the maintenance shop with <br /> an accumulation start date of January 12, 2011.
