(Aegis), has performed quarterly groundwater monitoring at the above referenced
site from February 1990 through April 1991. The results of the monitoring were transmitted in Aegis'
"Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report" dated June 4, 1991, included. The purpose of this letter is to
request approval for abandonment of the wells, in place.
A year and one-quarter's results of monitoring indicate no detectable impact to groundwater by petroleum
hydrocarbons. The monthly groundwater elevation measurements observed by Aegis indicate a relatively
flat groundwater surface with a very low associated gradient and indeterminate flow direction. The variation
in flow direction is thought to be associated with the proximity of the site to the Mokelumne River to the
northeast.
Based on the monitoring data, Aegis requests approval for in place abandonment,;of the three on site
groundwater monitoring wells.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our offices at (916) 782-2110.
Sincerely,
Robert E.
