ANALYTICAL TESTING
Representative soil samples obtained during drilling were
submitted for analytical testing. The basis for sample selection
included: lithology type, sample depth, degree of saturation, and
confining stratigraphy. The soil samples were tested for:
pH
Major Ions
Metals ( Zn and Ni)
Summaries of the laboratory test results are presented in Table 1
and Table 2. The laboratory test data and the chain-of-custody/
request for analysis forms are presented in Appendix A.
TABLE 1
Sample Depth Major Ions (mg/kg)
ID No. (ft) Ca Cl Na NO3 K NA SO4
S-5 0940 25. 5 14.0 45.0 5.0 15.0 4.0 20. 0 22.0
S-7 1010 40.5 8. 0 17.0 3.0 <1 6.0 12. 0 16.0
S-9 1045 50.5 12.0 19.0 6.0 49.0 6.0 24.0 23.0
S-10 1130 60.5 8.0 22. 0 4.0 21. 0 5. 0 22. 0 57. 0
S-11 1243 65. 5 7.0 20.0 3.0 14.0 4 . 0 18. 0 27.0
TABLE 2
Sample Depth Metals (mg/kg)*
ID No. (ft) pH Ni Zn
S-5 0940 25.5 7.1 8.8 42.0
S-7 1010 40.5 7.4 2.0 10. 0
S-9 1045 50.5 7.2 2.2 17.0
5-10 1130 60.5 7.0 6.8 28.0
5-11 1243 65. 5 7.0 5.2 27.0
*TTLC
FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
The underlying soil characteristics include thin ( less than 10
feet thick) , highly interbedded lenses of sand, silty sand,
gravelly sand, and clayey silt.
The analytical testing indicates that the major ions, Ni, and
Zn concentrations for the soil samples tested are below State
of California Total and Soluble Threshold Limit Concentrations
(TTLC and STLC) .
BSK
3 - &nssockit
