' J. H. KLEINFELDER & ASSOCIATES •
' HAR SAMPLES
' o One sample will be selected from each lithologic zone'in one of
the three borings (BG-4) .
' 0 One of these samples will be selected from an elevation
approximately equivalent to the anticipated elevation of SI
' confirmation samples (approximated at 45-44 feet MSL) .
' 3.3 MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION
' A ground water monitoring well will be constructed in the third soil
boring, BG-5, located near the northeast corner of Mounce Street and Cluff
' Avenue, see Plate 2. The well will provide an additional sampling point
to assess the ground water quality of the near surface aquifer.
' Proposed construction details of the ground water monitoring wells are as
follows:
' o The well will be constructed in an 8—inch diameter borehole.
' o The PVC (well casing) pipe will be steam—cleaned prior to
installation.
' o The well casing will be 2—inch inside—diameter, flush—threaded
' joint, schedule 40 PVC pipe.
o Well screen sections will be perforated with 0.020—inch
' factory—cut slots.
o The screened section will be set 5 feet above and 10 to 15 feet
below the depth where ground water is first encountered.
o The annular space between the pipe and the wall of the boring
' will be backfilled with clean Lone Star Industries 2/12/ Monterey
sand_ to approximately 1 foot above the top of the perforated
section.
51-87-413 5
