STATUS REPORT ON LODI (LIND ' S) AIRPORT Lodi (Lind' s) Airport is a privately-owned basic utility airport located west of State Route 99 and south of Jahant Road, adjacent to the Collierville Rural Residential Area in the north-central portion of San Joaquin County. The airport is owned and operated by Robert Kupka. Airport_ Facilities: The airport has two asphalt-paved runways . Runway 8-26 is the primary runway and is oriented east-west , with a 3 , 090-foot-long runway, 24 feet wide , and a 620-foot overrun. Runway 12-30 is the secondary runway (also called the crosswind runway) and is oriented northwest-southeast , with a 2 , 250-foot-long runway, 30 feet wide (refer to the Land Use Map) . The primary runway has basic markings and is equipped with VASI (Visual Approach Slope Indicator) lights . The secondary runway has basic markings and no lighting. There are no navigational aids other than a wind indicator . Airport imaginary surfaces were adopted for both the primary and secondary runways as part of the San Joaquin County Council of Governments ' Airport Land Use Plan (refer to Airport Zone Map and Attachment 1 ) . The airport also consists of 150 hangar spaces , 52 tie-down spa- ces, a flight school facility, airport office, restaurant , and 19 repair/maintenance buildings. There are seven fixed base opera- tors, including the airport owner/operator, four crop dusting firms, one parachute jumping firm, and one flight instruction firm. A recent aviation facilities inventory and safety inspection con- ducted by the State Division of Aeronautics did not identify any safety deficiencies at the airport (refer to Attachment 2 ) . Airport Operations : At the present time, there are 165 fixed base aircraft at the airport. These. are primarily single-engine planes, but there are also 20 twin-engine planes, five helicopters, three DC-31s, and one 10-passenger jet . Based on the number of fixed base planes, the Division of Aeronautics estimates that the airport generates 107 , 250 aircraft operations per year . This volume ranks Lodi (Lind' s) Airport second in the County after Stockton Metro Airport in number of aircraft operations. The primary runway (8-26) is utilized during fair weather con- ditions and accounts for approximately 70 percent of the total flight operations. The secondary runway ( 12-30) is utilized during adverse weather conditions, essentially during the four- month winter season between November and March.
