TANK CLOSURE REPORT-BEACON STATION #494 -2-
2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, CA
AMV Project No. 19005.04
Six soil samples were collected for analysis from the underground storage tank basin. Sample
locations are illustrated on Figure 3. Soil samples were collected from locations approximately
2 feet beneath each end of the underground storage tanks. The soil samples were analyzed for
concentrations of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), total lead, and ethylene dibromide (EDB).
Of the six soil samples collected from beneath the tanks, five did not contain measurable
amounts of TPHg, and the sixth soil sample contained TPHg at less than 1 milligram per
kilogram (mg/kg). None of the six samples contained measurable amounts of benzene or EDB,
and the highest concentration of total lead was 7.5 mg/kg. Analytical results of soil samples
collected from the former tank basin are compiled in Table 1. Copies of certified analytical
reports are contained in Appendix A.
TABLE 1
TANK BASIN SOIL SAMPLE ANALYTICAL RESULTS
MARCH 8, 1993
Concentrations in milligrams/kilogram(mg/kg)
Sample Total' Total
Location Benzene Toluene Ethylbenzene Xylenes TPHg` EDB b Lead'
Tank 1, East <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.50 <0.010 6.0
Tank 1, West <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.50 <0.010 6.0
Tank 2, East <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 0.0061 <0.50 <0.010 6.6
Tank 2, West <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.50 <0.010 7.5
Tank 3, East <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.0050 <0.50 <0.010 6.0
Tank 3, West <0.0050 1 <0.0050 1 0.0056 1 0.046 0.92 <0.010 6.8
'TPHg = total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline.
bEDB = ethylene dibromide.
