TANK CLOSURE REPORT—BEACON STATION #494 -3-
2185 East Fremont Street, Stockton, CA
AMV Project No. 19005.04
3.0 PRODUCT PIPING TRENCH SOIL SAMPLING
On March 8, 1993, four soil samples were collected from locations beneath the former product
distribution lines and the fuel dispensers. Locations of the former product distribution lines and
the fuel dispensers are illustrated on Figure 3 along with collection locations of soil samples P1
through P4. Soil sample locations were discussed with Ms. Carol Oz of San Joaquin County.
The soil samples were collected by driving an impact sampler fitted with a 2-inch-diameter brass
tube into the soil retrieved with a backhoe bucket from approximately 4.5 feet below grade. Soil
samples were submitted for analysis of BTEX, TPHg, EDB, and total lead.
None of the four soil samples collected from beneath the product piping lines contained
measurable amounts of TPHg or EDB. The soil sample with the highest total lead concentration
(P2) contained 8.2 mg/kg. Soil sample analytical results are compiled in Table 2, and copies
of certified laboratory reports are contained in Appendix D.
TABLE 2
PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION LINE SOIL SAMPLE ANALYTICAL RESULTSa
MARCH 6, 1993
Concentrations in milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg)
SampleTotal"
LD.
