Throughput Capacity-Nominal 125 CFM
OPERATION
The engine driven blower draws fresh air through contaminated soil or storage tank. Vapor from the
' extraction plumbing is drawn through a flow rate instrument and a protection filter into the engine. The
hydrocarbon laden air is blown to the carburetion system of an internal combustion engine. The
engine burns the hydrocarbons in the same way an automotive engine does. Propane and/or air is
added as necessary to maintain the proper air/fuel mixture ratio (AFR), This is controlled by valves
and the fuel control computer. The exhaust is passed through a three way catalytic converter which
' oxidizes hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide and the nitrogen oxides undergo a reduction reaction.
Noise is maintained at an acceptable level by the use of the liquid cooled engine and a catalytic
converter.
1
Vapor Extraction and Treatment System
1 designed and developed by Environmental Techniques
1
