APPENDIX D <br /> ' WORK PLAN FOR INSTALLATION OF <br /> AIR SPARGING WELL <br /> Art & Artists <br /> 204 East Lodi Avenue <br /> Lodi, California <br /> July 1994 <br /> ' SCOPE OF WORK & PROCEDURES <br /> ' This work plan is included as part of the Final Remedial Plan for the Art&Artists site.The <br /> scope of work included the installation and sampling of two (2) air sparging wells. The site <br /> Iocation is illustrated in Figure 1; a plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2; the proposed <br /> well locations are illustrated in Figure 6. <br /> The following is a list of procedures to be followed for the installation of the sparging wells: <br /> 1) Prepare a Site Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the Occupational Safety <br /> and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities - Prepared by <br /> National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection <br /> Agency, October 1985. <br />' 2) Notify the EHD 48 hours prior to commencement of any work. <br /> 3) Drill two soil borings to depths of 80 feet. The borings will be drilled utilizing a <br /> hollow-stem auger drill rig. The estimated boring Iocations are depicted on Figure <br /> 2. <br /> 4 Collect and to soil samples at 5-foot intervals. Auger returns and soil s <br /> } g p g ample <br /> duplicates will be logged in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System. <br />' Samples will be obtained using a split-spoon sampler loaded with three pre-cleaned <br /> brass sleeves. <br />' 5) Complete the borings as 2-inch air sparging wells (SW-1 and SW-2) using 5 feet of <br /> screen from 75 feet to 80 feet. A five-foot bentonite plug will be used to create an <br />' air tight seal in the wells. The wells will then be backfilled to the surface with <br /> Portland Cement. <br /> 1 <br />
