Pre-Design Investigation Workplan
Former Manufactured Gas Plant—Lodi, California
illustrated on Figure 5. Soil gas samples will be analyzed for VOCs including
naphthalene using EPA Method TO-15.
• For waste characterization, disposal planning and pre-profiling, select soil samples
collected from several proposed borings will be additionally analyzed for one or
more of the following tests:
o VOCs using EPA Method 8260B;
o TPH-p as TPHg using EPA Method 8260B;
o TPH-e as TPHd and TPHmo using EPA Method 8015;
o PAHs using EPA Method 8270SIM;
o Tide 22 Metals using EPA Methods 6010B/7471A;
o Arsenic using EPA Method 6010B;
o Lead using EPA Method 6010B;
o California Waste Extraction Test (WET);and,
o Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) using EPA Method 1311.
The results of the above analyses will be utilized for waste segregation and stockpile
planning, pre-profiling with waste disposal facilities, and other remediation planning and
design efforts.
The location and depth of each boring, trench, soil vapor probe and sample may be modified in the
field based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, overhead or underground
obstructions,drilling refusal, depth of groundwater and soil conditions observed. Additional borings
and trenches may be advanced based on field observations.
TERRA PACIFIC GROUP Page 10 April 4, 2012
