The subcontractor, ECA, Inc., will provide an experienced operator to operate the <br /> rig in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and specifications. The <br /> operator is responsible for inspecting the rig on a daily basis to ensure that it is <br /> operating properly and safely. <br /> Potential physical hazards will arise from operation of the drill rig to perform the tasks <br /> described in Section 1.2. General precautions that should be observed for safe <br /> operation include: <br /> • Use of PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hard hats. <br /> • Workers in the vicinity of the equipment should be aware of the equipment's <br /> location and that it is being operated. Verify that the operator is aware of your <br /> presence by establishing eye contact or communication by hand signals. <br /> • Traffic vests will be worn in areas of vehicular traffic, or near other mobile <br /> heavy equipment. <br /> • Workers should inform operator if they will be walking on the side of, or behind <br /> E2C Remediation Appendix A-5 <br />
