June 6, 2005 <br /> 1804BK.5 <br /> Mr. Harlin Knoll,San Joaquin County <br /> Page 2 <br /> Underground Service Alert(U.S.A.) will be contacted to field locate underground utilities prior to <br /> commencing the field investigation. The diameter of the well borings will be eight(8)inches with a <br /> maximum depth of 65 feet for the monitoring wells, 70 feet for the AS wells, and 40 feet for the <br /> SVE wells. The well borings will be advanced using a drill rig equipped with hollow-stem auger <br /> equipment. The wells will be constructed with 2-inch-diameter PVC casing and backfill materials as <br /> described in the attached figures showing typical well details. The annulus of each well above the <br /> sand pack will be backfilled to the ground surface using neat cement with approximately 5 percent <br /> bentonite powder in accordance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department well installation permit. The wells will be completed at the surface with traffic- <br /> rated watertight well boxes set flush with the existing surface. Drilling and well installations for this <br /> project are scheduled to resume, beginning on June 8, 2005 and will be completed before the end of <br /> July 2005. The wells will installed in accordance with California Water Well Standards as outlined <br /> in Bulletins 74-81 and 74-90 and with San Joaquin County requirements (if different from state <br /> requirements). Upon receipt of the permit to install these wells, the process will be scheduled and <br /> San Joaquin County and the RWQCB will be notified of the schedule <br /> Enclosed please find a completed permit application,permit fees, a certificate of insurance from <br /> driller, a copy of the drillers C-57 license, and a site map showing the well locations. Check No. <br /> 5417 for$89.00 is enclosed for processing the new well installation permit application. We trust <br /> that the information provided in this letter is sufficient for processing the new permit application.
