OFFICE OF
SHERIFF-CORONER
e COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN
MAY 2 0 P.O. Box 201058,Stockton,CA 95201
1991 (209)468-4400
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPT,
PLANNING DIVISION May 20, 1991
Baxter Dunn
Sheriff-Coroner TO: Steve St. Sure
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
From: Pete Burnett
San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department
RE: QX-91-6
This project is located in a remote area of the county. Consequently,
response time to calls for service could average over fourteen min-
utes. With this in mind steps should be taken to increase security
and minimize the chances that this development will be victimized.
All access roads should be gated and locked when the business is
closed.
The office should be constructed to meet the California Model Building
and Security Ordinance.
The office, tool and equipment storage areas should be alarmed. I
recommend an audible alarm that is monitored at a central location.
Tools and equipment are a favorite target of thieves and other low-
life, slime dwelling creatures. These items should be stored in--a
high security area that can resist attack by the burglar, thief or
vandal. Ideally, this storage area should be located within a fenced,
alarmed compound. That way should someone climb or cut the fence, the
alarm will be triggered and hopefully we will receive the call before
the secure storage area is attacked by the thief.
Consider a live-in caretaker.
