lierracon Soil Suitability / Nitrate Loading Study
Azevedo Property Acampo, CA
June 19, 2019 Terracon Project No. NA197009
Based on a review of the historical information, the site appeared to consist of undeveloped land
in the early 1900s and was developed with agricultural row crops from as early as the 1930s
through 1990s. The existing residence and agricultural building were developed in 2003 and 2014
respectively.
1.3 Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
1.3.1 Existing On-Site Septic Tank Usage
Based on a review of the EHD Public Records website one Onsite Wastewater Treament System
Permit (SR0035480) dated 2003 was available for the site address. Based on a review of the
permit, the site is equipped with a 1,600 gallon septic tank, two 60 foot long leach lines, and two
3.5 ft. wide by 25 ft. deep seepage pits at the end of each leach line for a total of four seepage
pits. There were no concerns reported by the client relative to the existing septic system.
1.3.2 Site Specific Permit History
Two additional Well/Pump permits (SR0034698 and SR0034699) were available for the site
address. Based on a review of the permits, in November 2003 and December 2003 coliform was,
present in two groundwater samples collected from the onsite well; however, a subsequent
analysis condOcted in February 2004 did not identify the presence of coliform. The documents
associated with both permits appear to be duplicates; therefore, one set of the documents is
included in Appendix C.
1.3.3 Discussion of On-Site Septic Tank Repair
No onsite septic permits were found for the site address.
1.3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the site, our office reviewed
a recent aerial photograph of the property available from GoogleEarth TM . The vicinity of the site
consists of agriculutural land and residences. The assumption was made that each
building/cluster of buildings has one septic system. Using this method, we determined there are
approximately 20 septic systems within 0.25 miles of the site.
1.3.5 Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Terracon searched the EHD Public Records website for the adjoining property septic permits.
