8.0 IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The following sources of past, current, on-site, and off-site contamination have
been identified as a result of this investigation:
1
Ptl
3
0
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
Based on review of aerial
photographs, it appears that a
number of structures existed on the
Site in the past. The existing
structures on the Site date to the
1930s or earlier through the 2000s.
It appears that several additional
structures have been removed from
the Site as well. (Current and past
on-site)
The Site has been used for dry
pasture since 1937 or earlier, and
for a mix of dry and irrigated
pasture since 1952. A portion of
the Site was used for vineyard in
1937 or earlier. No chemical
application records for the Site
were identified at the San Joaquin
County Agricultural
Commissioner's office for the past
five years. (Past on-site)
A domestic well and an irrigation
well are currently in use on the
Site. An older well, located near
the main house, is capped and not
currently in use. (Current and past
on-site)
Two above -ground storage tanks
were observed near the shop
building on the Site. One tank was
labeled as containing red diesel.
(Current on-site)
For any current or former structure
dating from the 1980s or earlier, the
assumption is made that lead -
containing materials and/or
pesticide residues may be present
in and around the structure.
Underground infrastructure may
exist in the vicinity of the former
structures. The typical standard of
care for SSCRs does not require
any further investigation of current
or former structures.
As with any former agricultural
property, agricultural chemical
residues may be present in Site
soils from past farming. The typical
standard of care for SSCRs does
not require any further investigation
of past agricultural use.
The domestic and irrigation wells
appear to be in working order. The
older well is capped and most likely
could be returned to service in the
future, if needed.
No staining was observed in the
vicinity of the tanks.
LOGE 1940 8
