You should have a copy of his January 16, 1997 letter
informing you that chlorinated hydrocarbons, probably from an off-site source, have been
detected co-mingled with gasoline in a groundwater plume beneath the Valley Motors
property.
The series of reports documents increases in both the variety and concentrations
of chlorinated compounds each time groundwater samples have been obtained. Whereas
the highest gasoline concentrations have been detected in VM-2, which is located near the
former dispenser island, the highest halogenated concentrations have been detected in
VM-1, near the property line.
At Mr. Info ma's direction, we will obtain another round of samples in February in
order to submit a monitoring report before the Technical Review Committee of his
department meets on March 5, 1997.
Si cerely,
Aef
Victor B.
